A 12-year-old boy was kidnapped by unidentified persons in the old city here on Thursday. The offenders called the boy’s father on Friday and demanded a ransom of `5 lakhs to release the boy.
The victim, Mohd. Shakeer, a resident of Daratjung Colony in Madannapet is son of Mohd. Abid, who works as a ‘mouzan’ in a local mosque. He is a Class VI student in a private school.
According to police Shakeer was playing in front of his house when he was abducted. The police suspect that Abid’s relative Toufiq might have kidnapped him since he was not financially sound.
