Hyderabad, Nov 28 (PTI) Ten Maoists today surrendered before the police in Narsipatnam town of Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam district, police said.
"The group led by G Chinakka voluntarily surrendered before the Visakhapatnam District Police OSD (Operations) Trivikram Verma," Narsipatnam DSP N Narasimha Kishore said.
"All the 10 rebels were facing charges of attacks on village sarpanchs and creating law and order problems during Maoists bandh call in the state," he said.
The extremists, who belong to Kannavaram village in Visakhapatnam district, will be first counselled and later set free, the DSP said.
On November 22, five Naxals were arrested from Kannavaram and five rifles and few grenades recovered from their possession.
