The last few weeks has been seeing a lot of commotion happening over the
 installation of the statue of N T Rama Rao in parliament. As soon as 
the permission came in, a big fight broke out between the Nandamuri 
family members and Daggubati couple and even Lakshmi Parvathi.

Each team has been mudslinging on each other and everyone wants to gain
 the credit of making things work out. In between, Nandamuri Balakrishna
 came up and reportedly pointed the finger towards the late Y S 
Rajasekhar Reddy for stopping the statue to be erected. So, what is all 
this drama about?

Some are saying this is pure ego conflict which is quite common among 
big families. But there are those who say that since the 2014 elections 
are coming, the more NTR’s name is heard among the masses the more TDP’s
 presence will be registered in their minds so it is more of a political
 agenda. If NTR’s soul is somewhere, what it must be feeling at this

Till sometime back it was the two major parties congress and Telugu 
Desam which were pitted against each other for several decades. But now 
the TDP has found one more opponent in the form of YSR Congress Party. 
It is more like Congress is no longer the threat the way YSR Congress 
is.

And the battle for both parties has already begun. The latest issue 
they are fighting about is ‘Principles’. After the recent FDI incident 
wherein three MPs of TDP simply went absent, the YSRCP came down heavily
 stating that it was nothing but a ‘two timed’ principle of the Telugu 
Desam.

Before they could take it further, the YSR Congress had a blow with 
their member Jupudi Prabhakar signing for the SC ST bill and this gave a
 chance for the TDP to allege that YSRCP has been following a two or 
maybe three timed policy. This will be unending but what people are 
seeing is who among the two will actually help them when they need it. 
The votes will fall accordingly.   </div>

At a time when many were tensed as to what will happen in the hotbed of 
Telangana region, the TDP president Chandrababu Naidu had a smooth run 
and he proved once again that he still has a strong following among the 
masses who seem to have regained confidence in his vision.

Chandrababu is busy with his Padayatra ‘Vastunna Mee Kosam’ and reached
 Warangal yesterday. Later on, he moved to the Karimnagar district and 
the response to him was overwhelming. Reports say villagers and locals

 was YSR’s shadow follower Suridu. Many said that Suridu has been a 
loyal and trusted aide not only to YSR but also to the entire family 
from generations.

But after the demise of YSR, Suridu disappeared completely and many

the Kurnool TDP leaders addressed the media when they came down heavily

A 42-year-old woman was sedated and 
raped allegedly by three men in Uttar Pradesh who then dumped her in 
south-east Delhi, police said today.

The fresh case comes close on the heels of a 23-year-old girl being gang-raped in a moving bus in south Delhi on December 16.<br /><br />Police
 claimed that the woman, who hails from Jaipur, was raped somewhere in 
Vrindavan and dumped in south-east Delhi's Kalkaji area last night.<br /><br />The
 incident came to light around 9.15 PM when a passerby saw the woman 
lying on a road and called the police.The victim had gone to Vrindavan 
on December 22 and was returning home yesterday.<br /><br />She met the 
accused Dilip Verma there and he accompanied her in a car to her 
hometown.On the way, Verma's two friends joined them.<br /><br />"She told 
us that she was gagged, sedated and raped by the trio. They took turns 
to rape her.A medical examination has confirmed rape," a senior police 
official said.<br /><br />Police said she was conscious and taken to AIIMS where she is undergoing treatment.<br />A case of gang-rape under section 376(G) has been registered and Verma has been detained.<br /><br />Delhi
 Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said Verma was picked up from Agra and
 he is being brought to Delhi for interrogation. He claimed that he 
knows the victim for five years.<br /><br />Three teams have been formed and hey are raiding several places to catch the other two accused.<br /><br />A
 senior police official said it is claimed that the woman had earlier 
tried to get a rape case registered in Agra but after investigations, 
police did not file any case as they found the allegations to be false.<br />Police was verifying it.</div>

in the state. The state has achieved a 
turnover of Rs 53,246 crore for the very first time, said the IT and 
ITeS Industry Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITsAP), the apex body with 
more than 300 members representing the software industry in the state. 
The turnover comprises 76 per cent from exports (Rs 40,646 crore) and 24
 per cent (Rs 12,600 crore) from the domestic market. The growth rate of
 the industry in AP  16 per cent - is on par with the national average, 
the ITsAP said in a release. Another important milestone for IT industry
 in 2012 was that the direct employment crossed 300,000 for the first 
time. The industry today provides employment to 13.3 lakh people, of 
which direct and indirect employment is 3,18,624 and 10,12,769 
respectively, the release said. IT exports in AP also contribute to 
approximately 38 per cent of the state's total exports making the 
industry as one of the primary contributors to the economic development.
 The release said 12 per cent of India's IT exports are from AP and the 
state continues to be the fourth largest domestic exporter.</div>

A city court Thursday sent Tejram Parmar, a key accused in 2007 Mecca Masjid blast case, to judicial custody for 14 days.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) 
brought Parmar, who was arrested near Indore Monday, to Hyderabad on 
prisoner transit warrant and produced him before Nampally Criminal 
Court.</div>

The court sent the 25-year-old accused 
to judicial custody till Jan 11. The activist of a right-wing Hindu 
organization was subsequently shifted to Chanchalguda Central Jail.<br />The court adjourned hearing on a petition by NIA, seeking his custody for 20 days for questioning him.</div>

Parmar was arrested after Rajender 
Chaudhary, an accused in the blast case who was arrested in Ujjain a few
 days ago, confessed that that three people planted bombs in the mosque.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nine people were killed and 58 others 
were injured in the bomb blast during Friday prayers on May 18, 2007 at 
the 17th century mosque, one of the biggest mosques in India.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Chaudhary confessed that he along with 
Parmar and Amit planted bombs. Amit is still absconding. All the three 
hail from Madhya Pradesh and share the same ideology. The NIA has not 
yet revealed the name of the organization they belong to.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
According to NIA, the trio along with 
the main accused Swami Aseemanand and others are involved in blasts on 
Samjhauta Express, Ajmer Dargah, Mecca Masjid, Malegaon and other 
places.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The other arrested accused in the blasts include Devender Gupta, Lokesh Sharma and Bharat Lal alias Bharat Bhai.</div>

Two other accused Ramchandra Kalsangra 
and Sandeep Dange are absconding while another suspect Sunil Joshi was 
killed, allegedly by his own associates.</div>

1,120 kg ganja seized 4 held

Police today seized ganja valued at Rs 18 lakh and arrested five persons in this connection  in Visakhapatnam District.

The cannabis, weighing 1,120 kg and 
stuffed in 28 bags, was seized following a raid in Vaddipa and 
Ratnampeta villages under Narsipatnam sub-division, said Tafseer Iqbal, 
Assistant Superintendent of Police, at a press meet in the city.</div>

The contraband was valued at Rs 18 lakh,
 he said. The raid was carried out after receiving a tip-off. Five 
persons were apprehended and an equal number wanted in connection with 
the seizure absconding, Iqbal said.</div>

Decision on Telangana in a month: Shinde

meeting Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said " A decision will be 
taken within a month. we have heard the members of various parties. we 
have noted their views and will brief the government about it. Several 
parties said that the decision should be given as early as possible. I 
will come out with the decision within a month."</div>

When reporters asked about what the 
parties said their stand, he replied that " I don't want to say who said
 what at the meeting. This is not forum to speak on those aspects."</div>

All Cyberabad police stations to have help desk for women

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
A Women Help Desk would be set up at 
every police station in Cyberabad in the coming year. Deputy 
Commissioners of Police have been asked to create help desks for women 
at all the police stations to curb the crime against women, Police 
Commissioner Ch Dwarka Tirumala Rao said at his year-end press 
conference today.

These desks would be headed by lady police officers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The complaints received by the desk 
would be monitored daily though an online system. Sensitive cases in 
which women are victims will be handled by women inspectors, under the 
supervision of Additional DCP Crimes, also a woman officer, the 
Commissioner said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In 2012, 72 rape cases were registered 
in Cyberabad limits, against 84 in 2011. Number of crimes against women 
decreased from 1,878 last year to 1,642 cases in 2012, he added.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, 779 incidents of 
chain-snatching were reported in 2012 against 667 in 2011, and police 
have decided to create a special cell in the Crime Branch for targeting 
chain snatchers, Rao said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Cyberabad Commissionerate is also 
planning to get bio- metric finger printing system for its Finger Print 
unit that will help in quicker identification of the accused. A proposal
 for nine more Law and Order police stations, four Women Stations and 
three Traffic Police Stations is afoot.</div>

hospital. The staff of the emergency department worked on Mr Greig to no
 avail," St Vincent's spokesman David Faktor was quoted as saying by The
 Age.<br />Greig, a Channel Nine commentator, was suffering from lung 
cancer since October. The lung cancer was detected during Australia's 
one-day series against Pakistan in Dubai in August and September.<br />Greig
 was initially diagnosed with bronchitis in May. But his condition 
deteriorated and by the time the World Twenty20 finished in Sri Lanka in
 October, small lesions were detected at the base of his right lung. 
After he returned to Australia, Greig underwent treatment and fluid was 
removed from the right lung.<br />"Tony Greig is a name synonymous with 
Australian cricket - from his playing days as the English captain we 
loved to hate, to his senior role in the revolution of World Series 
Cricket...and more than three decades of colourful and expert 
commentary," a Channel Nine statement said.<br />A South African by birth,
 Greig qualified to play cricket for England because of his Scottish 
parents. As a teenager he trialed for Sussex in 1965. He played 58 Tests
 between 1972 and 1977.<br />He made his Test debut against Australia at 
Old Trafford in 1972 and struck half-centuries in both innings and 
taking five wickets for the game. He made his debut as a Test captain 
against Australia in 1975.<br /> Greig became a controversial figure due 
to his close relationship with Australian businessman Kerry Packer. 
Greig was instrumental in recruiting players for the break away World 
Series Cricket that ended his international career.<br /> Greig was a

Saturday in a Singapore hospital after suffering severe organ failure.

As authorities braced for more unrest on
 the streets, police reinforcements could be seen fanning out across the
 centre of New Delhi ahead of the return of her body later in the day.<br /><br />Prime Minister Manmohan Singh led the tributes to the victim but urged protesters to channel their anger constructively.<br /><br />According
 to doctors in Singapore, the student lost her fight for life at 4:45am 
(2045 GMT), nearly two weeks after the brutal attack that horrified 
India.<br /><br />"She had suffered from severe organ failure following 
serious injuries to her body and brain," Kelvin Loh, the chief executive
 of Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital, said in a statement.<br /><br />"She
 was courageous in fighting for her life for so long against the odds 
but the trauma to her body was too severe for her to overcome."<br /><br />After
 boarding a bus with tinted windows on December 16, the student was 
attacked by six drunk men who took it in turns to rape her and assaulted
 her with an iron bar before throwing her and her male companion off the
 moving vehicle.<br /><br />She was airlifted to hospital in Singapore on Thursday.<br /><br />Singh said he was deeply saddened by the death and that protests sparked by the case were "understandable".<br /><br />"We have already seen the emotions and energies this incident has generated," he wrote on his website.<br /><br />"These are perfectly understandable reactions from a young India and an India that genuinely desires change."<br /><br />Television
 news channels carried blanket coverage of the news, with the NDTV 
network running a ticker-tape headline "RIP India's Daughter".<br /><br />India's High Commissioner to Singapore TCA Raghavan told reporters that the woman's family was "shattered" by her death.<br /><br />Her
 body was carried out of the hospital in a black bag by three workers, 
who placed it into a police van, after which it was driven to a morgue.<br /><br />The body will be embalmed then released to her family in the afternoon, said workers at funeral parlour Hindu Casket.<br /><br />Raghavan said her body would be flown back to India later Saturday.<br /><br />The
 decision to fly her out of India by air ambulance was taken at a 
meeting of Singh's cabinet on Wednesday and the government had promised 
to pay all her medical bills.<br /><br />Home minister Sushilkumar Shinde 
said the government's only concern was to ensure the victim received 
"the best treatment possible".<br /><br />Singh has ordered an official 
inquiry into the gangrape and new laws to protect women as well as 
stiffer penalties for the worst sex crimes.<br /><br />And he said Delhi police would soon launch a drive to recruit more female officers as a confidence-building measure.<br /><br />The
 government has also announced plans to post the photos, names and 
addresses of convicted rapists on official websites to publicly shame

Cyrus Mistry, the new chairman of the Tata Group, will formally take charge of his office on Monday
 
, company sources said on Saturday. 
Mistry, who was appointed chairman to succeed Ratan Tata, is the sixth 
chairman of the Tata empire. The Group was founded as a private trading 
firm in 1868 by entrepreneur and philanthropist Jamsetji Nusserwanji 
Tata. Today and tomorrow being holidays, Mistry will attend office in 
his capacity as the group chairman only on Monday, sources at the Bombay
 House, the Group's headquarters, said today. Ratan Tata retired as 
chairman of Tata Group after a 50-year run yesterday. He, however, did 
not attend the office on the last day as he chose to celebrate his 
Diamond Jubilee birthday celebrations at the Tata Motors manufacturing 
facilities at Pune. Mistry, who was groomed for the assignment by Tata 
for a year, had made a visit to Bombay House yesterday. Ratan Tata, who 
helmed the group for 21 years after being chosen successor by his uncle,
 the iconic JRD Tata, in 1991, is credited with transforming the group 
through bold decisions including large global acquisitions, even as some
 of its peers struggled to stay relevant post economic liberalisation. 
Mistry, who has been with the group since 2006 in various capacities 
hails from the Shapoorji Pallonji family, which is the largest private 
shareholder of the group's holding company Tata Sons. Born on July 4, 
1968, Cyrus Mistry completed his graduation in Civil Engineering from 
London's Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine and 
followed it up with a masters in Management from the London Business

Congress divided on 'T', TDP sings old tune

The two representatives from the 
Congress party expressed two views at the all-party meeting on the 
Telangana issue on Friday in New Delhi.

As expected, Congress senior leader Gade
 Venkata Reddy opposed the Telangana state by justifying his stand with a
 logical explanation. However, Telangana Congress leader K R Suresh 
Reddy told Shinde that he was in favour of Telangana.</div>

Though Gade added that he was willing to accept whatever decision the Centre takes.</div>

He categorically said that he made it clear to Shinde that it would be better if the state remains united.</div>

The TDP has once again followed the 
'two-eye theory' by singing the old tune. The two representatives- 
Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Kadiam Srihari submitted a letter to Shinde. 
In the letter, the TDP mentioned that they had given a letter in favour 
of Telangana to to the Pranab Mukherjee committee in 2008 itself.</div>
