HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Gems and Jewellery Park, promoted by the Government as a joint venture with IOI Corporation Berhand of Malaysia, is poised to become the centre of international jewellery industry.
With an exclusive pavilion spread over 205 lakh sq.ft. shopping area, it is one of the country's unique set-up, a workshop on ‘Prospects and opportunities of gem and jewellery sector in Andhra Pradesh' was told on Wednesday.
Karikal Valaven, Commissioner of Industries, who was the chief guest at the workshop organised by FAPCCI, said the State was emerging as one of the country's fastest growing centres for gem and jewellery sector. Shekhar Agarwal, FAPPCCI president, Ruban Hobday, regional director, Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council, Chennai, Praveen Kumar Agarwal, of Twin Cities Jewellers' Association, Subba Rao of FAPCCI spoke.
