Tirupati, Oct 28 (PTI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan today said tight security arrangements have been put in place by the state government for US President Barack Obama's visit to Mumbai next week.
"It is a private visit by Barack Obama to Mumbai.
However I have not received any official communication on the exact date and time of the U.S. President's arrival to the city," he told reporters here.
Chavan said Mumbai had returned to normalcy after the deadly 26/11 attacks due to better security and surveillance in the city and elsewhere in the state.
He refused to comment on the Babli Dam row between Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, saying the matter was before the Supreme Court, which will decide on it.
Chavan was here for a three-hour visit to worship Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala near here on the occasion of his 52nd birthday.
