Hyderabad, October 28: The Telangana Rachayithala Vedika general secretary, Mr Juluri Gowrishankar, on Thursday appealed to the people of Telangana to observe Andhra Pradesh formation day as Telangana Vidroha Dinam on November 1.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Gowrishankar said that they would protect the statues of famous writer late Sri Sri in the Telangana region even after separate Telangana State was formed. He also demanded that the State government erect statues of Komuram Bheem, Kaloji, Suddala Hanumanthu and Dasarathi on the Tank Bund.
Questioning the Seema-Andhra leaders whether they had erected statues of Telangana writers in the Seemandhra region so far, Mr Gowrishankar pointed out that Seema-Andhra writers who penned "Kavadikundalu" book, described the separate Telangana agitation as democratic. He said that while only the political leaders were trying to derive political gain from the agitations, the real statesmen were working with responsibility to protect democratic system. Due to discrimination by Andhra leaders on Telangana region, the Telangana agitation was launched, he added.
Mr Gowrishankar said that they would organize a seminar on 'Telanganam' with Telangana and Seema-Andhra writers to demonstrate "Vidroham" on Telangana region at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on November 1 from 10 am to 5 pm. They would bring out a book with published essays on 'Telangana Vidroham', he added. (NSS)
