Genelia said in an interview today that she is grateful for the Telugu and Tamil film industries for one thing.
"Though I grew up in Mumbai, my parents hail from Mangalore and since my childhood, my parents used to take me to all the South Indian cities and town. I always wanted to wear pottu or half saree. It was only because of the South Indian films that my dream to wear these half-sarees was fulfilled' she said.
She also says that she would always be indebted to director Shankar.
"It was director Shankar who selected me out of 300 girls for the Boys movie and my life changed after this single movie."
