Rajinikanth Endhiran and Salman Khan Dabangg competed in terms of collections for first week some time back. While Dabangg collections sent the earlier box office records tumbling, Endhiran – Robot has sent Dabangg crashing down.
Endhiran first week collections were Rs. 60 crores in Tamil Nadu, 30 crores in Andhra Pradesh, 8 crores in Karnataka and Rs 4 crore in Kerala. Endhiran Hindi version Robot collections were 15 crores.
While Endhiran released in 2,200 screens, Dabangg released in 1,400 screens. More screens mean more revenue. The entertainment tax structure and ticket prices vary from in India from North to South zone. Also, the dubbed movies need to pay 7% additional tax in the form of entertainment tax to the government. So there’s lot for discussion.
And now the question is can Endhiran beat Aamir Khan Ghajini of 260 crores?
