Vizianagaram, Oct. 10: The Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Odarpu Yatra will certainly be held in the Vizianagaram district at any cost and the date was yet to be decided, claimed Anakapalle MP Mr Sabbam Hari.
Mr Hari, who was here on a day’s visit to the district on Sunday, told reporters that the Odarpu Yatra was to be looked into from the human angle but not from the political angle.
The main reason behind the present turmoil across the state was that the yatra was being considered politically. “As per the word given to the kin of 468 victims who died on hearing the news of former chief minister Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy's death across the state that all bereaved families would be personally consoled, Mr Jagan has taken up the programme and it is not at all linked to party affairs,” he maintained.
When questioned whether he was interested in leading district politics, the MP re-plied in the negative, adding that the district was being developed under the leadership of local minister Botsa Satyanarayana. “I will al-ways oppose any act that da-mages the image of the Congress and my visit to the district is apolitical,” he said.
