it's mandatory to obtain Censor certificate for every movie before it is released in theaters. Censor Board members view the entire film and will decide what kind of a certificate is to be issued to the movie. If the movie is fit for watching only by the adults, it would be issued with 'A' certificate. If it can be watched by all, then it will be given "U" certificate. It's said that for issuing such certificates, Board members seek bribes upto 3 to 5 thousands of rupees for routine films. The amount may go upto one lakh in case of controversial films. Some members even ask for hundred tickets of the first day morning show. Even in nominating the Board Members, lot of corruption takes place, it is said.
