One doesn’t know if Congress MP Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy, son of former CM Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, should be appreciated or questioned. He has paid a huge sum of Rs. 84 crore as advance taxes, with his expected annual income to be around Rs. 500 crore!
For someone who has paid only Rs. 2.92 lakh for the year 2008-2009 and Rs. 6.72 crore for the year 2009-10, it is a jump by almost 14 times!

Individuals who are somehow involved with mining are proving to be high tax payers. Karnataka Tourism Minister Gali Janardan Reddy’s wife Lakshmi Aruna paid more than Rs. 7 crore thanks to the ‘famous’ mines of Bellary. Interestingly, Kumarmanglam Birla, the chairman of Aditya Birla group, paid a tax of only Rs 5.8 crore.
The mining politicians know how to make better businesses than the biggest businessmen of the country! In any case income tax has always been topic of concern for many. Only those who are paid are asked questions about incomes, while those who do not earn anything can get away without paying taxes!
