He is fondly called as the ‘Mental Krishna’ by the cine folks and the
audience. Though his films provide a major torture, there are many who
go to the theatres to watch his films just to see the dose of sadism and
torture quotient he has increased.
He is none other than Posani Krishnamurali and recently he gave a
‘Jhalak’ to our very own popular TV anchor Suma. All this happened in a
TV show being hosted by Suma and Posani came as the celebrity judge. In
one instant, Suma asked Posani “What is the title of your next film?”
Pat came the reply from Posani “Bongu Swamy!!”. Before Suma could
recover from the jolt, he said “You are feeling tortured no?” she said
“Not torture but finding it new.”.
Posani said “That’s what happens when you hear ‘Boothu’ word but
there is no Boothu here. There are bamboo sticks, bamboo bed, bamboo
decorations and in between this Swamy sits… that’s why the name Bongu
Swamy. The movies I have taken before like ‘Dussasana’ ‘Duryodhana’
‘Rajavari Chepala Cheruvu’ have no boothu in the title but this one is
different.”
Those who saw this were glad that Suma didn’t faint by then.

One man who is being touted as the sure shot graveyard for herione’s career is the ‘Mental Krishna’ of Tollywood. Yes, he is our very infamous Posani Krishnamurali.

While his films claim being eye openers to the society, they are surely ‘eye opening’ to the hardcore mass audience. Now, many say that working with Posani means pack up to the career. This is especially in the cases of heroines. A classic example of that is Satya Krishna who was all set to have a successful innings.

Then came Aarthi Agarwal who paired with Posani and lost whatever little chances she had. Few other heroines came in and vanished without a trace, thanks to Posani. Now, the cine folks say it is the turn of Gaurie Pandit of ‘Andhrudu’ fame. What many fail to understand is, despite knowing how Posani shows sadism on his heroines, why the girls are willing to risk their careers and image. Only the actresses can answer that.

However, PKM has been on a filmmaking spree since Operation Duryodhana. This is only because most of PKM’s films turned out to be money spinners for the producers. Posani is known for making low budget films in short time and also with a sensational theme that grabs the attention of masses. Despite its horrible content his films do well in terms of business.

One of his terrible and intolerable flicks, ‘Mental Krishna’, too turned out to be a safe bet to its producer Mohan Vadlapati. If someone questions Mohan about the content in Mental Krishna pat comes the answer that “it ran successfully for fifty days in thirty centers”.

Mohan is so happy with Mental Krishna that he is in plans to make a sequel to it. Recently he has registered ‘Mental Krishna 2’ title too. Posani will act and direct this flick soon after wrapping up his current directorial venture ‘Dussasana’ with Srikanth.

“All those who were victimized by Mental Krishna’s part 1 torture should be aware of this part 2 coming up. Beware, hide in a safe place” is what one of the victims of Mental Krishna has to say after knowing about the proposed sequel.
