Sachin Tendulkar ensured that India won the second match in the ongoing Two Test match Series in India. The master blaster made a magnificent double hundred in the first innings and a patient fifty in the second innings to see India through a tricky fourth innings wicket.

Set to chase 207 in the final innings, debutant Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay gave a mighty opening, inspite of losing Virender Sehwag early. Cheteshwar Pujara came at No.3 position, above Rahul Dravid, making a good impression with his 72.

The final 61 runs were chased down patiently by Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, who hit the winning runs. With this India beat Australia 2-0 in the series. For India, it is the first win in fifteen years at Bangalore.

It is very rare that Australia gets such a drubbing from any side, and losing two of two is considered even more troublesome. In fact this is the first time in 28 years that Australia has lost all the matches of a series! Captain Ricky Ponting who made good scores in both the matches, will go empty handed yet again from India. He has never won a match for his country under his captaincy. It is highly unlikely if he will come back as a captain to India having seen his country drop to No.5 in the ICC Test rankings, their lowest so far.

Sachin Tendulkar was adjudged man of the match and man of the series. India have justified their number one status.
