‘Birdman’, by Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, co-lead the nominations with ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, including space for best picture, where they will meet with ‘The Sniper’ (‘American Sniper’), ‘Whiplash’ ‘The theory of everything’, ‘Selma’, ‘enigma code’ (‘The imitation Game’) and ‘Boyhood’.

The latest film from Mexican director, famous for ‘Amores Perros’ and ‘Babel’, focuses on the history of Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton), an actor in decline trying, through a play on Broadway, claim their old glory days in which was a superhero: Birdman (birdman).
In an interview with ‘W Radio’, the director Inarritu was happy for the nomination and emphasized teamwork with that achieved this production. Meanwhile, he stressed the role and the powers of actor Michael Keaton. “The role was perfect for him. He is great actor of comedy and drama. It is a difficult role. I was not mistaken and I am grateful to him, the trip was fun. I enjoyed it very much, “he said.
Inarritu also praised the generation of Mexican directors in which he concurred life, highlighting names like Alfonso Cuaron and Guillermo del Toro. Finally, he stressed the other Oscar nominated films that will compete with. “All you are good movies, have their merits,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the space intended Academy Award for Foreign Language productions entered Argentina successful film ‘Wild Stories’, measured with ‘Ida’ (Poland) -also nominated for her photography-, Leviathan (Russia), Timbuktu (Mauritania) and ‘Tangerines’ (Estonia).

The announcement of the nominees was made on Thursday morning at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Actor Chris Pine, president of the Academy Awards, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, and directors Alfonso Cuarón and JJ Abrams were responsible for presenting them. For the first time, during announcements were read nominees in 24 categories.
The ceremony of the Academy Awards will take place on February 22 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted the actor Neil Patrick Harris.
