While there has been no official statement from the JAC yet, a pall of gloom has descended upon the makers of the two films, especially because over a Rs 100 crore are at stake. A source close to producer B.V.S.N. Prasad, who is producing Attarintiki Daaredi, said, “Prasad had already paid a price when T-strikes hit his Aarya 2. And now, it’s the Samaikyandhra JAC. We hope the government helps.” But B.V.S.N. Prasad himself is a little reluctant.
“I don’t want to get into what has happened before. But we are very upset with this news of halting my film’s release. The good thing is that we are yet to receive any official word from the JAC. Since we have put in a lot of money and effort into this project, we sincerely request people from all regions to maintain restrain and allow us to do business. It seems, Tollywood has become a soft target and we seem to be sitting ducks. We are contemplating necessary steps to have a smoother release in both regions on the same date. As of now, release dates stay.”
