TD, TRS dig into each others’ past

Leaders of both the Telugu Desam and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti have gotten busy these days, digging

past statements made by their rivals on Telangana.
 While the TD leaders chose a video clipping of TRS president K. Chandr-asekhar Rao’s 1996 speech in the Assembly opposing the zonal system for government employees, the TRS came out with a power point presentation and videos of TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu making contradictory statements on Telangana and his dethroning of former CM N.T. Rama Rao.
Realising the advantages that documentary evidence offers, both parties are now busy trying to get video clips and press clippings to nail each other. Source in the Telugu Desam said that a team has been asked to scan all the speeches delivered by Mr Rao in the Assembly as well as outside during his stint with the Telugu Desam party, his stint as the Union labour minister, among others. It is learnt that government sources too are helping the TD to take on Mr Rao and marginalise him in Telangana. In fact, the TD has a far better equ-ipped library than the TRS. On the other hand, TRS is collecting all the video and press clippings of Mr Naid-u’s statements pertaining to Telangana, the resolution in 2008 when it entered into an alliance with the TRS and its subsequent back-tracking.
