The Telangana Students Joint Action Committee (TSJAC) has called for educational institutions in Telangana to shut down on Saturday to protest attacks on Telangana supporters in Warangal during Telugu Desam chief N. Chandr-ababu Naidu’s Rythu Poru Bata on Friday.
The Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) has expressed its support for the bandh and urged all educational institutions in the region to support it. Many schools and colle-ges in the city have decla-red a holiday on Saturday in view of the bandh call. The TSJAC and OUJAC, who condemned the atta-cks on T-supporters, especially students, threatened to attack TD leaders from the Telangana region for joining Mr Naidu’s rally. They alleged that Mr Naidu has undertaken the yatra to scuttle the Telangana movement wh-ile claiming it is in support of farmers’ agitations.
