“I am reborn and happy to land on my soil,” said an ecstatic Vinod Kumar as soon as he landed at the Bengaluru International Airport from Dubai on Thursday evening.
Vinod was one of the 201 survivors from India who stared death in the face last Friday when the cruiser Costa Concordia ran aground off the Italian coast. “It’s the Titanic of my life. I can never forget the anxiety I went through at the time of the accident,” said Vinod.
Along with Vinod, another survivor Basheer Ifthikar Khan also landed at BIA on an Emirates flight. Two more survivors arrive in the city post midnight from Dubai, while three are expected to land in Mangalore on Friday.
