Director V.V. Vinayak is one of the most
commercially successful directors of his generation. He has delivered
blockbusters like ‘Aadi’ and ‘Tagore’ in the past, as well as some good
hits like ‘Adhurs’ and ‘Nayak’.

Vinayak is introducing Bellamkonda
Suresh’s son, Srinivas, with the film ‘Alludu Sreenu’. Vinayak has a
personal interest in the project, as Bellamkonda gave him a life in the
Film Industry many years ago with ‘Aadhi’. The director spoke to the
media today and revealed some interesting details about the project

This is a transcript of Vinayak’s interaction with media personnel today.

RD: Your name is being heard in connection with Chiranjeevi’s 150th film. Are you directing this project?

Vinayak : Yes,I might
direct this project. Discussions are going on and there are still some
things to be finalised. Chiranjeevi himself will take the final call
with respect to story and theme.

RD : There are rumours about a socio-fantasy or historical theme being chosen for this project. Your comment?

Vinayak : I have been
hearing rumours about this Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy script but it is
not true. Left to me, I would like to see Chiranjeevi garu in an
entertaining and humorous characterisation.

RD : Are you launching Bellamkonda Srinivas out of an obligation towards Suresh?

Vinayak : Bellamkonda
Suresh gave me a chance to direct a film like ‘Aadhi’ and he believed in
me when no one else did. I consider it my dharmam to launch his son. In
fact, I asked Bellamkonda during ‘Aadhi’ shooting about his son’s
debut. But at that time, he was not interested.

RD : Why did you choose Samantha as the heroine opposite a debut hero?

Vinayak : The decision
to cast Samantha as a heroine was taken by Bellamkonda Suresh as he
wanted the project to get a good buzz. She is a very popular actress
these days and we did a photoshoot with her. The pair looked good and
she contributed a lot towards this film. She has good grasping power and
a director’s job becomes easy with actresses like Samantha.

RD : What can you tell us about Bellamkonda Srinivas?

Vinayak : I did not get
the feeling that I was directing a newcomer while working with
Srinivas. He has been working very hard to improve his acting and
dancing skills since many years and it shows. He has good ease as an
actor.

RD : Can we expect a traditional Vinayak film with lots of action sequences?

Vinayak : I actually
wanted to make this film without any chase sequences or big blasts. But I
realised that people expect these things from my film, so we shot a
climax chase sequence.

RD : Any plans to make Adhurs 2 with Jr NTR?

Vinayak : I will work with NTR for sure and Adhurs 2 did come up between us. But this project will not be a sequel to Adhurs.

09:09 AM: "Siddarth Naayak" turning to "NAYAK"... Point was okay but would have needed more conviction in execution.

09:10 AM: Sentiment block... Shot heart touchingly. but followed action scene is bit artificial.

09:13 AM: "Surekha" performance at this critical scene given required emotional elevation.

09:17 AM: As most of the scenes shot in dark, you should watch this movie in theaters to understand the movie guys. No Piracy

09:20 AM: "Pradeep Rawat" action is pale, but "Siddarth Nayak" serious action by "Ram Charan" was look

09:25 AM: "Nayaak" instant elevation was artificial but there after execution with rowdyism and twists with "Posani" serious comic action is neat.

09:27 AM: Chocolate and song episode .... "Vinayak" creativity at its peaks... "Posaani" at his best guys.

09:35 AM: "Yavvaramante ellure" song... Good music, okay lyrics, decent visuals but "Charmi" show reminds recording dance in village "Tirunalla" and Ram Charan dance is great but at this serious juncture you would't digest "Naayak" dancing for an item song with peppy moves

09:36 AM: Interesting twist with opt background music...

09:38 AM: "Cherry" and "Zilebi" together always ..... kewl to see that.

09:40 AM: Twists in court scene... however required feeler is missing.

09:42 AM: "Jaya Prakash reddy" and all comedians comedy is hilarious

Naayak – Movie Review by One India

Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja, who has become a superstar in Telugu films after Magadheera, has joined hands with popular director VV Vinayak for his latest outing Naayak, which has hit the screens today. The movie does not have an awesome script, but it boasts of wonderful performances by leads actors and rich production elements. Cherry is sure to rock you again after Racha. Naayak is an action entertainer with all other commercial ingredients. Ram Charan Teja's electrifying performance is the main attraction in the film. SS Thaman's music, Chota K Naidu's camerawork, Vinayak's narration, Brahmanandam-MS Narayan-Rahul Dev's comedy, choreography of action and dance sequences, Kajal-Amala's glamour show, beautiful locations and graphics work are its other highlights. Its one big flaw is that the film turns predictable after interval bang. VV Vinayak has chosen a script that has hit the screens several times in the past. But his past paced narration makes it an interesting watch. The director has made the first half of the film Naayak very interesting with a right blend of romance, action and comedy. The second half begins with heavy action and violence, but the movie becomes predictable with the twist revealed at the end of the first half. The director could have ended the movie with more satisfactory climax. Story: Cherry (Ram Charan Teja) is a software engineer in CgTrix. In bid to save his uncle Jilebi (Brahmanandam), he falls in love with Madhu (Kajal), the sister of local Don Gandipeta Babji's (Rahul Dev). Meanwhile, a series of high profile killings takes place in Hyderabad and Kolkata. When Minister Rawat (Pradeep Rawat) is targeted, a CBI team starts hunting for Cherry, who is suspected to be involved in those cases. This investigation leads to an interesting twist. What happens next will form the crux of the story. Continue to read other details of Nayak movie review in slide show.

Ram Charan Teja has delivered wonderful performance in the movie Naayak. His voice modulation is superb and he has shown lot of ease in dance and action sequences. He is the showman in the movie.

Kajal Aggarwal has no much scope in the story, but she has large screens space when compared to Amala Paul. She looks very glamourous in song sequences and her chemistry with Ram Charan is one of the highlights of the film.

Amala Paul has a limited presence and she appears in a few scenes and a couple of songs in the second half. But she makes sure to impress you with her glamour.

Brahmanandam, Posani Krishna Murali, MS Narayana, Jayaprakash Reddy, Rahul Dev have delivered very good performances and they are sure to tickle your funny bones.

SS Thaman's music and background score are main attractions in the technical front. His compositions like 'Nellorae', 'Hey Naayak', 'Katti lanti Pilla' are 'Subhaleka' good to listen. Chota K Naidu has done brilliant picturisation in songs like 'Katti lanti Pilla', 'Subhaleka' and 'Oka Choopuke Padipoya'.

The choreography of dance and action sequences is another highlight in the film. Akula Shiva's dialogues are good, especially for the comedians. Gautham Raju's editing is also commendable.

Overall, VV Vinayak may not have given a great screenplay, but he has had a high entertainment quotient with his narration. His mass appeared is doubled up up Ram Charan's performance. Naayak is a perfect Sankranthi entertainer.
