It was 15th June, 1995. Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Bigboss' and Collection King Mohan Babu's 'pedarayudu' were released on this day. Amidst a big hype and hoopla, Chiranjeevi's 'Bigboss' was released in maximum number of centers. However, the movie generated utter flop talk on its release day. On the other hand, Mohan Babu's 'pedarayudu' was released silently with no big expectations among the audiences. But there was a big sensation as the movie generated blockbuster talk at the end of its morning shows. Mohan Babu's terrific performance as 'pedarayudu', gripping story and screen play, nice tunes by Koti made the movie a great hit. However, Tamil Superstar Rajnikanth's exclusive stylish performance in the guest role made the movie to get the status of 'Industry Hit'.
Meanwhile, 'pedarayudu' collected a share of Rs.12 crores at the end of its full run world wide. Previous industry hit movie Chiranjeevi's 'Gharanamogudu'(1992) collected  a share of Rs.10 crores. 'pedarayudu' ran 100 days in 40 direct centers across the state beating 'Gharanamogudu's 39 direct centers 100 days record.
'pedarayudu' had Bhanupriya and Soundarya as female leads. Raviraja Pinisetty directed this movie. Mohan Babu, himself, produced this movie on Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures.
