Story:
A disconnected tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Canada and here lives the Desi Rajveer (vinay). His dream is to become an ice hockey player. However, his father (anupam kher) is particular that Rajveer follow the family business and also do the required religious activities. On the other hand, Ice Hockey is dominated by whites. With no other choice, Rajveer decides to make his own team and calls it's the Speedy Singhs. He takes the help of his Uncle Sammy (gurpreet) for sponsorship and gets a coach (rob lowe). But with each round in the championship, Rajveer keeps facing new challenges and most importantly, he doesn't inform his father about it. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:
The director has come up with a different storyline and while the presentation was neat, the narrative was not strong. The dialogues were decent and they were good at places. The script was not well written and the screenplay was not upto the mark. Background score was good and almost three songs were hummable. Cinematography was effective. Editing was regular. Costumes were stylish and trendy while the art department was appealing and rich. Vinay Virmani has come up with a decent performance and scores. Akshay's brief role was alright. Anupam Kher has done it before so it was usual. Camilla Belle looks seductive and she was good. Gurpreet Guggi was alright. Russell Peters brought few smiles. Sakina was sweet. The others were there to fill the screen.
Conclusion:
Though the teasers and the promos of the film showed great promise, the film was not so. The prime reason for that was the poor writing. Moreover, the backdrop of ice hockey is something not many in India can connect. While the first half takes off on a lighter note, the second half tumbles and by the time the climax arrives, there is not much enthusiasm for the audience. Such ideas require tight scripts and good entertainment quotient which was missing. At the box office, the film will find it hard to survive barring few decent first three day collections.

 Verdict: Good thought, poor execution
