Woman raped on temple premises

Kadiri (Anantapur), Nov. 26: A woman was gang raped in the Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple at Kadiri on Thursday night.
On finding out about the incident, devotees thrashed security guards who had cooperated in the heinous act and handed them over to the police. However, the main accused is absconding.
The police said a youth of Madakasira and a woman had come to the temple on Thursday night. A contract employee, Bojja Kirankumar Reddy and security guards Manju and Satish questioned them.
Then the security guards took the youth aside. After that, Kirankumar Reddy took the woman to room No. 29 and under the pretext of interrogation, raped her.
Later, Manju, one of the security guards, went into the room to rape her as well.
Other devotees at the temple, however, got suspicious and broke open the door. At this point, the main accused fled from the spot.
