Nina Davuluri

Miss New York, 24-year-old Nina Davuluri, became the First Miss America of Indian descent as the famous beauty pageant returned to Atlantic City, New Jersey, after a six-year stint in Las Vegas.
Davuluri from Syracuse sashayed off with the tiara and the $50,000 scholarship cash as the nationally televised pageant was back in Boardwalk Hall, where judges chose her to succeed the current title-holder, and former Miss New York, Mallory Hagan, USA Today reported.
Miss America is a beauty pageant that awards scholarships to young women in United States.
She is an excellent Dancer and lists Bollywood Dance as her primary talent on Miss America official page.
She is proud to be an Indian. “I was the first Indian Miss New York and I’m so proud to be the first Indian Miss America,” she said in an  interview.
She was born to an Indian Gynaecologist  in 1989 in Syracuse US. She attended University of Michigan and  graduated with a degree in Brain and Cognitive Science.   In past she has won several Scholastic Honors like, Dean’s List; Michigan Merit Award and National Honor Society Award.
She plans to become a Doctor. With the prize money $50,000, she hopes to fund her higher education in Medicine. She also holds the title of Miss Syracuse 2013.
