Tabu, who started her career with glamour roles before changing track and playing strong, women-oriented ones, has proved herself a versatile actress. Now, Tabu has been roped in to play mother to Irfan Khan in the film 'Life of Pi' directed by Hollywood director Ang Lee. It is based on the novel with the same title, written by Yann Martel.
In fact, Tabu plays the role of the mother of Pi, the protagonist of the film. Suraj Sharma, a debutant plays adolescent Pi where as Irfan Khan dons the role of grown-up Pi. This is not the first time that Tabu and Irfan are acting together in a film. Earlier, Tabu played Irfan Khan's mistress in 'Maqbool' and his wife in 'The Namesake'.
