The Seemandhra bandh and a spate of rallies and demonstrations across the coastal Andhra and Rayalseema regions has once again brought to the fore the need for formation of separate Telangana state.
This was stated by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Saturday. “The agitations of the Seemandhra people only strengthened the Telangana cause. It clearly shows they are dead against meting out any justice to the Telangana people. We never wanted to stall the SI recruitments in Seemandhra region; all that we were demanding was implementation of the unanimous decision taken in the Assembly. The Seemandhra people do not want to accept even this legitimate demand. How can they expect us to remain united with them?” he asked.
He described Seemandhra leaders as “neethi leni vaallu” (insincere fellows), who are not in a position to wait even for 15 days till the government takes a decision on free zone issue. “They made us more determined to fight for separate statehood, which is the only solution to all the problems of the people in the region. As long as the two regions are united, this kind of confrontation continues to happen,” KCR said.
